Egoboo Creates Theme Music for TV3 News

30th May 2008
A The new TV3 News Theme Music, which premičred last month as part of the station’s re-branding, is the latest composition from music composition studio – Egoboo. Greg Malocca from the audio house talks about the Vienna Symphony Library software that was helped create the track.

The Vienna Symphony Library (VSL) is the most advanced music software containing 550 GB of samples of orchestral instruments. The samples are renowned for their lifelike performance and high quality, recorded by members of the Vienna Philharmonic. VSL contains a full orchestra made up of ten instrument sections: solo strings, chamber strings, two collections of orchestral strings, harps, two collections of woodwinds, two collections of brass (one of which includes Wagner Tuba), and percussion.

Greg Malocca owner of Egoboo says; “I am delighted to have had the opportunity to work on this project with this new Vienna Symphony Library (VSL) software”.

“With these fabulous tools I am creating such an amazing and realistic sound which is perfect for scoring to film or in this case writing the theme music for a TV program. As an orchestra is now contained within a box - this can make huge savings for film makers as they don't have the immense expense of hiring a full orchestra! This will also give film makers with lower budgets the opportunity to have a proper score tailored to their works.”
